Barrhead reports cruise revenue growth
Barrhead Travel has reported a £10 million jump in cruise bookings revenue in 2017, compared to last year.
It said river cruise bookings have grown by 30% and luxury cruise bookings have risen 11%.~
The agency chain said the growth was achieved thanks to Investment in online cruise search technology and the launch of river cruise net rates.
"Since the introduction of our net rates for river cruise, we have been able to offer options with better flexibility and added value for our customers," said cruise director Catriona Parsons.
The Scottish group has recently announced the launch of a British Airways charter flight from Glasgow to Genoa to connect with MSC~Cruises sailings.
It will be completely exclusive to Barrhead Travel and is the only direct route to Genoa from Scotland.
"With our river cruise division accelerating, we will consider adding charter flights exclusively for river cruise departures to complement our current charter offering. It’s a really exciting time to be in the cruise business and we are looking forward to continued growth in 2018," added Parsons.
Barrhead also has exclusive charter flights from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Barcelona, Venice, Palma and Reus.~~
