Business travel agency BCD has inked a deal with video conferencing booker WhyGo.
The deal will mean BCD can offer its clients a choice of 2,500 videoconferencing rooms and 40 telepresence facilities around the world.
Telepresence is a system offered by Cisco which creates a sort of virtual reality for meetings. Screens are set up showing delegates who can’t be there sitting at a desk in their remote location.
BCD is edging more and more into this and videoconferencing, currently already offering the facility in the Benelux countries.
BCD Travel’s commercial director for Belgium and Luxemburg Glenn Wastyn said: “BCD Travel embraces the importance of offering travel alternatives that help companies contain costs and meet corporate social responsibility imperatives.
“In addition to supporting CSR goals and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, videoconferencing can help companies grow their business.
“By offering VC services at the point of sale, BCD Travel acts as a one-stop-shop for our clients’ face-to-face and virtual meetings.”
