Bedbank claims more flexible dynamic packaging
Hotels4u.com claims a new XML version of its booking system will provide agents with improved connectivity and enhanced search capabilities.
A new city programme covering more than 10,000 hotels worldwide including the UK has been introduced – following a similar initiative by rival Youtravel.com.
Third-party beach accommodation has been expanded to include Thailand, Goa, Gambia, regional France and Italy.
The Open Travel Alliance (OTA) standard has been introduced to offer a single interface to the content, claiming to providing agents with more flexible search capabilities and quicker response times.
XML payment can now also be processed, removing the need to integrate the system with a separate payment gateway, according to the Thomas Cook-owned bedbank.
Full amenity, geo-code and content data has also been incorporated into the new system, meaning hotels can be plotted on maps and a more sophisticated searching and filtering technique can be employed to save agents time when taking bookings.
Hotels4u.com sales and marketing director John Harding said: “The introduction of this new XML system has been a considerable investment, but one which we feel will benefit agents by providing greater flexibility and control over our products – two attributes central to the dynamic packaging market.â€
