This is the seventh time the hotel has won the top spot by Conde Nast Traveler. It has won more than any other hotel in the country.

  • What does it take to run the award-winning luxury property? The hotel maintains a 1.5 employee-to-guest ratio, totaling over 600 employees making it their business to keep the hotel in top form.
  • Over 20% percent of the hotel’s staff has worked at the hotel for over 20 years.

— Reservations manager, Alexis Eiseman and her staff have fielded 45,361 guest calls;

— The Ritz-Carlton Chicago overnight shoe shiner Terry Faulkner has polished 10,500 pairs of shoes while our guests sleep;

— Each of Executive housekeeper Cathy Hudson’s veteran housekeepers has made 10,300 beds;

— Carlton Club Spa Manager Kathryn Wittman and her staff have performed 6,500 body treatments, ranging from aromatherapy massages to body facials;

— Room service manager Nick Panepinto and his team have squeezed 5,200 oranges to make the fresh-squeezed orange juice served in The Café and room service;

— Overnight baker Pancho Arellano has prepared 1,200 pounds of homemade granola and 20,000 pastries to welcome our guests when they awake for breakfast;

— The Shop at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago have sold 200 king-size mattresses, 350 – 100% down comforters, 240 down feather pillow sets, 400 terrycloth Ritz bathrobes and 80 silver martini shakers to guests.
