Bob Cotton joins Travelmole British tourism debate
British Hospitality Association chief executive Bob Cotton OBE will join the panel of experts at the next TravelMole Travel Industry Question Time on February 15.
He will help tackle the question ‘British Tourism Week – Is It Worth It?’ along with other panelists, who include VisitBritain head of government affairs Bernard Donoghue, Tourism Alliance policy director Kurt Janson and Hoseasons product director Sara Zimmerman.
Cotton has been chief executive of the BHA since January 2000 and before that spent a year as tourism adviser to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
He was appointed OBE in the 2003 New Year’s Honours List for services to the tourism and hospitality industry.
The Question Time will address key issues surrounding UK tourism in advance of the first British Tourism Week which runs on March 12-16.
Up for discussion will be government funding of UK tourism, the controversy surrounding the online activities of both VisitBritain and VisitScotland, the distribution of domestic holidays through the travel trade, the promotion of UK tourism and the likely impact of the 2012 Olympic Games.
Keep checking www.TravelMole.com for further updates and details of how to register to attend.
