British Airways’ Gatwick short-haul airline plans advance
British Airways is getting closer to announcing the launch of a new short-haul airline at Gatwick. It could happen within weeks after reaching agreement over pay and conditions with Unite union, which represents cabin crew, technicians and ground staff.
It plans to start flying under a new short-haul brand from next spring. Plans for ‘BA-Lite’ are progressing well BA chief executive Sean Doyle said in an internal memo to staff. BA recently reached agreement with pilots’ union BALPA.
