Wednesday, 2 November 20163 min read
British Airways is launching a new route from London Gatwick to Oakland, CA, on March 28, 2017.
It will be the airline’s first route to California from London Gatwick.
Once the service kicks off BA will become the only European airline serving all three Bay Area airports from London.
It flies twice daily from London Heathrow to San Francisco and once a day to San Jose.
The Oakland route will be served by a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft operating four days a week.
"We’re very excited to open up California to our customers in the Gatwick area and position British Airways as the number one European carrier to the Golden State. We are confident this route will be a big hit with British tourists," said Colm Lacy, British Airways’ head of commercial at Gatwick.
