British Airways to fly nonstop to New Orleans

British Airways is linking the Big Easy with London Heathrow from next spring.
BA will start flying to New Orleans on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jets from March 27 which will will initially become Louisiana’s only nonstop transatlantic route.
German carrier Condor launches seasonal flights to Frankfurt later next year.
"We are delighted to be adding New Orleans to the British Airways global network," said Simon Brooks, senior vice president sales for BA.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said: "For years, we have pursued bringing more direct international flights to Armstrong Airport and with the addition of British Airways it’s clear our hard work is paying of. In advance of our city’s tri-centennial in 2018 and the opening of new North Terminal project, New Orleans is poised for big things."
New Orleans becomes BA’s 23rd destination in the US.
The UK flag carrier previously served New Orleans way back in the 1980s.
BA is touting 130 onward connections ‘throughout Europe and beyond’ from its London Heathrow hub.
