British Travel Awards to promote LGBT nominees across the globe
The British Travel Awards (BTAs) has announced a broadcast media partnership with Pride World Radio to promoting voting in the 2018 awards and the companies nominated in the Best LGBT Holiday Tour Operator category.
The deal will see the Newcastle-based radio company, which goes out worldwide via the web, app, Tunein and other platforms, broadcast 10 30-second ads each day during the consumer voting period.
The promotions will encourage voting for the nominees in the BTA Best LGBT Holiday Tour Operator category.
In addition, there will be on-air interviews with the nominees throughout the summer.
The BTA consumer voting period runs for 13 weeks, from July to the end of the September.
Travel companies only have one week left to register if they want to be in the running for a 2018 British Travel Award. Registration ends on May 31.
The Best LGBT Holiday Tour Operator BTA award is designed specifically for the LGBT community where packages have been developed to gay-friendly destinations and resorts.
BTA CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton said: "The deal with Pride World Radio is a huge vote lobbying campaign asset to the nominees in the LGBT Holiday Tour Operator category.
"Additionally, nominees in this category will be given the opportunity for on air interviews to promote their listing but any company not registered needs to hurry – registration closes on May 31."
The BTAs are the only travel industry awards voted for exclusively by the travelling public and are verified by Deloitte. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on November 28 2018.
