Britons believed dead after Tripoli plane crash

A passenger plane on its way to London Gatwick has crashed at Tripoli airport, with more than 100 people reported dead.

Unconfirmed reports say an eight-year-old Dutch child was the only survivor.

The Afriqiyah Airways flight from Johannesburg crashed as it attempted to land.

According to Lybian officials, there were 93 passengers and 11 crew on board the Airbus 330, including British and South African citizens.

The plane had been due to fly on from Tripoli to Gatwick airport.
