Innsbruck airport in Austria turned away dozens of UK tourists who got caught out by newly updated Covid restrictions. Authorities.said they did not have a negative PCR test within 48 hours, a new requirement for entry.
It affected about 110 British tourists. Many were put on a flight back home but about 40 were accommodated overnight in a hotel. About a dozen of these were allowed to take a test and continue their holiday. These were reportedly all families with children.
The situation was described as ‘chaos.’
