Brits would rather sacrifice dining out than going on holiday

British on a budget would sooner cut back on eating out, clothing and electronic gadgets rather than skimping on their holiday.

According to research unveiled today by ABTA, 13% of Brits said they would cut back on trips to save money, compared to 25% who said they’d cut back on eating out, 18% on clothing and 17% on gadgets.

Of the age groups surveyed, 18-24 year olds are the most tied to their holidays. Nearly a third (31%) said they would curb how often they eat out, compared to only 6% who would cut back on a holiday.

Similarly, nearly a third (31%) of people with children in their household said they are most likely to moderate their spending on eating out, compared to just 13% who would cut back on the amount they spend travelling.
