Business is booming at the cruise ship boneyard

As the cruise ship market remains in crisis, the Turkish ship recycling industry is experiencing a boom. Cruise lines are selling off ships at an unprecedented rate but for older vessels, it means a one-way trip to the scrapyard.
The ship wreckers at Aliaga are on track for their best ever year since the Global Financial Crisis. They are predicting a haul of nearly a million tons of scrap metal this year.
