Business Travel 2002 attracts record numbers
Guild of Business Travel Agents’ chairman Charles Sommer (left) and Centaur’s Paul Robin are pictured officially launching the Guild’s ‘Year of the Business Traveller’ campaign during the Business Travel 2002 show.
Centaur exhibitions group event director Paul Robin has said last week’s Business Travel 2002 exhibition may have been “the best ever”
Unofficial figures suggest the show received nearly 7,000 visitors, compared to around 6,500 at last year’s London event. Mr Robin said 82% of exhibitors have already rebooked stands for next year’s show, which he said was a record figure.
Mr Robin told TravelMole: “The true test of what exhibitors think of the show is how many rebook, especially in the current climate, so we are very pleased. There is a lot of optimism and positivity in the market with people determined to put last year behind them. People want a fresh start and I think we gave a little bit of impetus to that.”
Next year’s Business Travel event takes place at London’s Olympia from February 4-6. The Manchester show will be held from October 9-10 at the city’s G-Mex Centre.
