Business travel firm CTM snaps up Alaska rival USTravel
Business travel firm Corporate Travel Management has announced the acquisition of Alaska travel management company USTravel.
The takeover is effective from July 1 and will make Australia based CTM one of the largest travel management companies operating in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
CTM will now have a presence in 17 North American cities in 7 states employing over 300 full time staff.
The USTravel office in Seattle will become CTM’s regional base in the Pacific Northwest, responsible for Alaska, Washington State and Oregon.
USTravel also has offices in Portland and Spokane.
"We are delighted to have UST become our regional base for the Pacific Northwest and has the qualities that we look for, with a great service reputation, a dedicated team and great management," said CTM managing director Jamie Pherous.
Both USTravel and CTM have large client bases in the oil, gas and mining industries and both have government travel divisions.
"The two companies have complementary cultures and for travelers, nothing will change," said director of marketing for USTravel Elizabeth Nerland.
"All of USTravel’s divisions, including Explore Tours and Visions Meeting Experts, are included in the sale; I think they want a year to work on how to move forward and establish the CTM brand."
