Canadian budget carrier Flair Airlines has abruptly suspended some US routes leaving customers in the lurch.
Flair only started flying south of the border recently but will suspend services to Florida and California from next week.
The airline says it is down to ‘disappointing load factors.’
Beginning February 28, seasonal services to Miami and St. Pete-Clearwater, Florida and Palm Springs, CA, will end.
The Orlando, Las Vegas and Phoenix routes out of Edmonton and Winnipeg will continue running as normal the airline said. No flights routes within Canada are affected either.
"Flair can confirm that we are suspending seasonal service to some US destinations. We are in the process of contacting all affected passengers and providing them with full refunds or, for those who have already started their journey, alternative travel arrangements on other airlines," Flair said in a statement.
That has unsurprisingly irked many customers taken by surprise with the sudden flight suspensions.
"The routes affected were always planned as seasonal service. Suspending these services earlier than expected was not a decision we took lightly, and we explored every option prior to coming to this decision," the carrier added.
