Car bomb attack kills five at Pakistan hotel
The Pakistan Taliban said it detonated a car bomb at a luxury hotel which was hosting the Chinese ambassador. It caused major damage at the Serena Hotel in Quetta. Hotel staff were among the fatalities. At least 12 people were injured.
The ambassador wasn’t in the hotel at the time but the attack was condemned by Chinese officials. Quetta is the capital of the restive Balochistan province. Pakistan officials said security has been beefed up in major cities across the country.
