Car hire before departure
Car hire formalities can be organised before departure from Gatwick on domestic flights with the opening of an airside rental desk.
If successful, the concept will be introduced at other airports in the UK and Europe.
Europcar UK has become the first car rental company to provide an airside rental desk at the airport, located in the domestic departure lounge at the North Terminal.
Rental paperwork is completed while waiting to depart, which enables travellers to pick up their hire car as soon as they arrive at their destination.
Europcar regional manager Sharon Tuckwell said: “The new airside desk at Gatwick is a pilot scheme for Europcar and its customers, and will be utilised in other UK and European airports if successful.”
