Qatar Airways is launching a daily flight from Cardiff Airport to Doha in 2018.
It will be the first regular direct long-haul flight linking Wales and South West England to a major global hub in the Gulf region.
Passengers can fly on to over 150 destinations in Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East.
The airline currently flies from London Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, and will start services from Dublin on June 12 2017.
