Caribbean Airlines is seeking a new chief executive after Michael DiLollo abruptly resigned with immediate effect.
DiLollo, a Canadian national, cited personal reasons and the resignation has been accepted by the board of directors of the state run airline.
He is succeeded by current chief financial officer Tyrone Tang as acting CEO until a permanent replacement is found.
Former pilot DiLollo took over as CEO at CAL in May 2014 and previously spent 20 years at Air Transat.
