Caribbean Airlines hires new CEO

Caribbean Airlines has appointed Garvin Medera as new CEO.

Medera took up his position on Monday and replaces acting CEO Captain Jagmohan Singh.

Singh had held the post since October 2016.

Medera joined from Digicel Play where he held several leadership positions including chief executive, COO and chief technical officer.

"The Board and employees look forward to the innovation and collective capabilities that would be developed under the leadership of the new CEO," the airline said in a release.

"He is looking forward to leading the transformation that Caribbean Airlines must embrace if the company is to meet the challenges of the fiercely competitive airline industry."

Medera has an MBA from Oxford University.
