A group of smaller Caribbean destinations are pooling their resources and partnering in a joint marketing strategy.
St. Kitts and Nevis, Saba, Statia, Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten, Anguilla and St. Barths have teamed up to establish the ‘Caribbean Group of Eight.’
The aim is to promote intra-regional travel.
"We are delighted to launch this new initiative. Our common objective is to promote intra-regional travel, capitalizing on our proximity to each other, and today’s travellers’ desire to discover new experiences," said Nevis Tourism Authority CEO, Jadine Yarde.
The G-8 initiative will give the destinations a bigger voce in the marketplace, while promoting the diversity of their natural attractions, experiences, cuisines, art and more.
"Our islands are easily accessible by air and sea, and we need to educate our potential visitors, both within the region and from our traditional source markets," said Anguilla Tourist Board Coordinator of International Markets, Chantelle Richardson.
To kick it off an introductory video will roll out across all their social platforms from this week.
The two-minute video highlights the different experiences travelers can enjoy in these varied destinations, which are current and former Dutch, British and French island territories.
