Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group plans to open another six hotels in Thailand within the next 18 months, and up to 100 throughout Asia Pacific.
The company is particularly bullish on the Thailand market which has performed well despite fallout from the Erawan Shrine bombing last year.
"We believe that the fundamentals for Thailand are the way forward. We want to be a major player and take part in that," Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor president for Asia-Pacific said at a media briefing.
"I am a very strong believer in the Thai tourism industry, which has shown enormous resilience against external influence. Of course we were impacted just like everyone else, but we came back very strong after a lag of about two months. With the record occupancy rate in 2015, we should not complain," he said.
Without giving specifics for the new hotels Kirschke said the company would focus on Bangkok and Pattaya.
Carlson currently operates four hotels in Bangkok under its Radisson, Radisson Blu and Park Plaza brands.
Radisson Blu Hua Hin is also slated to open later this year.
Across the region, the group is looking to add another 100 hotels within the next five years, effectively doubling its current inventory in Asia Pacific.
Priority markets include Indonesia, Philippines and Australasia, Kirschke said.
