Carnival Cruise Line resuming Puerto Rico sailings
Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed it will restart cruises to Puerto Rico at the weekend.
The line announced Carnival Fascination’s seven-night sailing on October 15 will go ahead from San Juan.
The ship calls at Grenada, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua and St. Kitts on sailings through late November.
There had been no issues sailing into the Port of San Juan since Hurricane Maria struck, only that infrastructure and power in and around the port area had been affected.
Many major resorts on the island remain closed and will do so for some time yet.
Fascination sails out of San Juan year-round.
The line says it has no other updated news yet for other hard hit cruise destinations in the region.
"We continue to evaluate our ability to return to St. Thomas and St. Maarten and will provide further updates to our guests scheduled to sail on December sailings and beyond once more is information available," said Carnival brand ambassador John Heald in a Facebook post.
