Carnival orders two new ships

Carnival Corp. has announced firm orders for two new ships to be built at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard.

One ship each will be added to the fleets of two of its main cruise brands – Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line.

Carnival Cruise Line will get its 26th ship, a 3,954-passenger vessel and sister ship to Carnival Vista, which is due for delivery in spring 2016.

For Holland America Line, a second Pinnacle class ship will be added to the fleet, alongside ms Koningsdam which will debut in February 2016.

It will accommodate 2,650 guests and will feature some of the new public areas and venues that will be seen for the first time on Koningsdam.

Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corp said: "New ships with the latest in features, accommodations and innovations really bring the modern cruise experience to life and will help us continue to grow new demand for cruising."

With these two new additions, Carnival Corp will be welcoming 10 ships scheduled to be delivered across its nine brands between 2015 and 2018.
