Carnival Vista will homeport in Miami
Carnival will homeport its largest ever ship the Carnival Vista in Miami following a short stay in New York City.
The 3,954-passenger ship is slated to launch on May 1 2016 in the Mediterranean and will make 18 sailings in Europe before heading across the Atlantic.
The move to homeport in Florida is part of a long term deal extended with PortMiami which requires the ship to sail out of Miami for at least 24 months in the three years after the ship launches.
Carnival spokeswoman Jennifer De La Cruz confirmed the agreement to homeport Vista in Miami but details on planned itineraries and length of stay will be announced next week.
Vista will feature some groundbreaking amenities aboard including the first IMAX cinema at sea, the line’s largest water park and a suspended open-air SkyRide.
