Cathay Pacific launching new route to Seattle
With new Airbus A350-900 aircraft, Cathay Pacific is spreading its wings further up the US west coast.
The Hong Kong carrier will commence a new nonstop service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The route kicks off on April 1, 2019 and will initially operate four times a week.
It becomes the airline’s 10th destination in North America.
"We are very pleased to be introducing Seattle and to provide more convenience and choice to our customers. There are strong business, trade and cultural ties between Hong Kong and Seattle and we believe there will be considerable demand for both business and leisure travel," said Cathay Rupert Hogg.
CX 857 will depart Seattle early mornings on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday allowing easier connections across Cathay Pacific’s flight in Asia to Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and more than 20 routes in China.
"We are thrilled to welcome Cathay Pacific, a well-known name that many of our travelers have wanted to see at Sea-Tac Airport," said Port of Seattle Commissioner Stephanie Bowman.
Cathay’s A350-900s will have a three-class configuration of Business, Premium Economy and Economy featuring enhanced in-flight entertainment system and Wi-Fi.
