CDC cuts Covid testing period for vaccinated cruisers
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated recommendations for Covid testing for cruise ship travel. It is recommending cruisers get tested for Covid-19 within two days before boarding, which is a shorter period than previously advised.
Vaccinated passengers should get a PCR or rapid antigen test within two days of boarding or be tested on the day of embarkation when available.
The new guidance says unvaccinated passengers are required to get a PCR test within three days of boarding a ship, as well as a PCR or antigen test on the day of embarkation
A PCR or antigen test is also required before disembarking. As a result of the new guidance, several cruise lines have amended their policies.
