CDC dashes hopes for swift resumption of cruising
Despite requests from trade groups to allow cruise operations to resume this summer, the CDC has no plans to lift its Framework for Conditional Sailing Order (CSO), which expires on 1 November 2021.
Cruise lines have been irked at the perceived slow progress of the CSO. It is a four-phase process and so far it hasn’t reached phase 2. Cruise lines will only be granted permission to sail again when they have passed all the measures set out under the Conditional Sailing Order.
"Details for the next phase of the CSO are currently under interagency review," the CDC said.
