Celebrity cancels Alaska cruise
Propulsion problems on a ship have forced Celebrity Cruises to cancel an Alaska sailing due to depart on June 3.
The line is also cutting a day off a May 27 voyage because the vessel Summit has to go into dry dock for repairs.
Passengers due to take the cancelled seven-night cruise from Vancouver are being offered full refunds plus a free cruise. Agents will receive full commission plus a $50 rebooking fee per cabin.
Passengers on tomorrow’s sailing which has been cut by a day, missing out Ketchikan in Alaska, will receive $300 per cabin on board credit, 25% off a future cruise and reimbersed hotel expenses or airline flight change fees up to $100.
Celebrity president Dan Hanrahan said: “I sincerely apologise to our guests for this disruption to their vacation plans. I share in their disappointment and promise we’ll do our best to assit them, as well as our travel agent partners, in rescheduling their vacations.”
