Celebrity Cruises quits for role in beauty business
Pesident and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, Daniel Hanrahan, has resigned after being head-hunted by Regis Corporation, a Minneapolis-based beauty company whose businesses include over 400 hair salons in the UK.
Hanrahan had been with Celebrity for seven years and with parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises for 13 years.
Industry leaders widely consider his "Get Out There" campaign and his "Solstice Class" fleet to be the highlights of his career with Celebrity. Solstice’s fifth and final vessel, Celebrity Reflection, will be delivered in November, 2012.
"To say I’m leaving Celebrity in good hands is an understatement": said Hanrahan in a public statement.
"From our teams here in Miami and Wichita, to our crew members on Celebrity ships around the world, this is the finest group of professionals I have ever worked with. I know the Celebrity momentum will continue."
Royal Caribbean has not named a successor.
