Celebrity Cruises is launching a new brand which will see it navigate the rivers of Europe.
It announced Celebrity River Cruises, which will offer premium river cruise itineraries ‘to historic cities on the world’s most iconic rivers.’
It will initially launch in Europe.
The brand has signed an order for 10 river ships to launch from 2027.
Reservations will open later this year.
Ships will bring the elevated design of the Edge Series Ocean ships to the river, it says.
“We’re thrilled to announce our entry into the river cruise market,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group.
“With about half of our guests having experienced or intending to vacation on a river cruise, we know they will enjoy Celebrity’s elevated offering on the river.”
Laura Hodges Bethge, president, Celebrity Cruises, added: “We’ve redefined travel on the ocean with our best-in-class hospitality, food and beverage experiences, and will combine them with authentic, destination-rich itineraries.”
