Cendant launches corporate travel brand
Cendant has upped its corporate travel offering by bundling a complete range of services off the back of its online booking solution, Highwire.
The new company is called Travelport, and Cendant claims it can save companies up to 40% on travel management costs. Travelport is already serving a number of clients including Nike and Microsoft, and Cendant is expected to go after more large corporations.
Travelport Corporate Solutions chief executive, Marka Jenkins said the move was driven by ongoing consolidation in the industry and a demand from companies for further cost savings.
The Travelport brand encompasses a number of services including Highwire, Galileo International, and Cendant’s travel agency, which provides global fulfillment and customer care services.
Cendant claims that according to research carried out by PhoCusWright, the managed corporate marketplace comprised more than 40% of the $193 billion US travel market in 2002.
Chief executive, Jenkins added: “We know that ‘one size does not fit all’ in the corporate marketplace and have constructed Travelport with inherent flexibility that enables us to offer customized solutions to address the needs of corporations as well as the needs of our agency and TMC partners.”
