China Airlines flight attendants called off their strike over the weekend, bringing an end to travel misery which stranded about 20,000 passengers.
Management at Taiwan’s China Airlines reportedly caved in to all demands of striking flight crew, Central News Agency said.
The first ever strike in Taiwan aviation history was due to a breakdown in talks last week over work hours, subsidies and where flight attendants are required to clock in.
More than 70 flights were cancelled Friday, while affected passengers were given a US$100 voucher.
The industrial action has already cost airline president Chang Yu-hern his job.
He was ousted by the Taiwan government and will be replaced by Hsieh Shih-chien.
Local media reported the management had already made concessions to some of the flight attendants’ demands before the strike commenced at midnight Friday, but was too late to stop it.
There as a knock-on effect of continued disruption Saturday as more than 2,000 crew members gradually returned to work but flight operations were mostly back to normal by Sunday.
