Authorities in central China said at least 12 people were likely killed after a major landslide destroyed a hotel in Hunan Province.
The Mirage Hotel in Nanzhang County was buried under debris including a massive rock weighing about 150 tonnes, rescuers said.
Five people were initially pulled out of the wreckage but two later died, Xinhua news agency reported.
The hotel owner is thought to have died in the disaster.
Rescue workers with sniffer dogs have detected no signs of life since the landslide on Friday.
The mountainous area is frequently hit by landslides, particularly after prolonged periods of rainfall.
