China made jetliner takes flight

China homegrown COMAC C919 aircraft completed its first full test flight.

It completed a successful maiden test flight by launch customer China Eastern Airlines, lasting three hours.

The C919 has up to 174 seats and is a rival to the Boeing Max 737 and Airbus A320.

“The flight test completed all the scheduled tasks, and the aircraft performed well,” COMAC said.

COMAC said it has received 28 orders for as over 800 C919 aircraft.

China Eastern Airlines will soon take delivery of five C919 jets, which will operate on domestic routes from Shanghai to Beijing, Guangzhou. Shenzhen and Chengdu.

The plane has been in development for over a decade.
