China made long-range C919 aircraft launched

China Eastern Airlines became the launch customer of the long-range version of the China made C919 aircraft.

It took delivery of the long-range jetliner which China hopes will rival Boeing and Airbus.

The C919 plane is made by Commercial Aircraft Corp.

It seats 164 passengers and has range of up to 5,500 kilometres.

Commercial Aircraft Corp. has orders for about 1,000 jets from airlines and lessors.
