A record number of Chinese tourists will travel overseas again this year, with 133 million projected to take trips outside the mainland.
A report by the China Tourism Academy and UnionPay International forecast a 11.5% increase on 2015.
As far as preferred destinations go, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan will again be the top picks, the report says.
They are followed by Thailand, South Korea and Japan.
The report says Eastern Europe, South America, and Central Asia are up and coming destinations for Chinese travellers which will gain in prominence over the next few years.
A similar survey conducted recently by HSBC predicted the number of overseas trips from China will likely double within a decade.
