China slams ‘political’ Covid test rules

China blasted Covid test requirents for outbound travel as ‘politically motivated.’

Several counties including India, the UK and US imposed restrictions.

The Chinese government warned it may retaliate.

Analysts say China is hiding the true number of cases.

They say it could be in the millions.

China’s is eases curbs on travel from 8 January.

China was ‘firmly opposed to attempts to manipulate the epidemic measures for political purposes.’

China’s borders have been mostly closed since March 2020.

The US clapped back, insisting its new Covid test requirements are ‘solely based on science.’
