Chinese OTA eLong appoints new COO

Chinese online travel company eLong has tapped David Zhou as new chief operating officer.
It marks a promotion for Zhou who has served as the company’s chief strategy officer for the past six months.
He has more than 10 years’ experience in the online travel business and previously worked in Ernst & Young as a senior auditor.
"I am very pleased with the appointment of David Zhou as chief operating officer of eLong. David has been an outstanding team leader as our Chief Strategy Officer and has a wide range of valuable experience in China’s online travel business. I am confident that he will make significant contributions to eLong’s future business growth," said Hao Jiang, CEO of eLong.
eLong is one of China’s leading online travel agents and is financially backed by the country’s biggest online travel company Ctrip.
