Two Chinese tourists have been arrested for posing for photos using the Nazi salute in Germany.
They were spotted by police taking snaps of each other outside Berlin’s Reichstag, the seat of the lower house of Parliament.
That led to their arrest and charges under laws against hate speech and using Nazi and Far Right symbols.
The tourists, aged 36 and 49, were charged and released on bail of €500 ($600) each.
They face a fine or a prison sentence of up to three years, according to police.
"A probe on suspicion of using the symbols of anti-constitutional organisations was opened against the two Chinese men, aged 36 and 49," a police spokeswoman told AFP.
However the police spokeswoman said the tourists were free to leave the country and if a fine is imposed it would likely be covered by the bail money already paid.
The Reichstag was the setting for many wartime Hitler speeches.
