Garuda Indonesia’s low cost subsidiary Citilink is spreading its wings to Cambodia.
The carrier will begin flying from Jakarta to Phnom Penh in mid-June.
Once the Phnom Penh route becomes established, Citilink may add flights to other Cambodian destinations Siem Reap and Sihannoukville.
It may also offer a link from Bali too.
The route will be operated by 180-seat Airbus A320 jets.
"This direct flight will enhance tourism between Indonesia and Cambodia. I expect many Cambodian tourists to travel to Bali, Borobudur, and many other beautiful destinations in Indonesia," said Cambodian tourism minister Thong Khon.
Citilink offers 74 routes to 43 cities.
Phnom Penh becomes Cilitlink’s third new international route this year after launching Kuala Lumpur flights from Jakarta and Surabaya.
