Coast Guard rescues stranded cruisers
Gamblers got more than they bargained for when a casino boat ran aground on its maiden voyage.
Tradewinds Casino Cruises’ boat the Escapade got stuck with 94 passengers and 31 crew in the early hours of Wednesday near Savannah off the coast of Georgia.
When attempts to tow the boat to shore failed, 114 passengers were taken by other boats to nearby Tybee Island and four others were airlifted to shore.
Seven crew members remained behind.
US Coast Guard said the navigation system had malfunctioned.
