The uncertainty over additional funding from Congress for airlines is causing havoc for flight planners and crew schedulers. Without a guarantee of more federal funding from October, airlines will take a hatchet to current schedules and furlough thousands of crew members.
This is unsurprisingly making crew members anxious about their future as they contemplate furlough warning notices. It is also a confusing time for customers with uncertainty over what flights will run from October when the current funding ends.
