Of the 14 categories, Considerate Hotelier members won 10.
Top kudos must go to the Lancaster London who scooped the Green Hotel of the Year Catey, despite facing stiff opposition from three other CH members – The Green House Hotel (Bournemouth), Sark Island Hotels and the Savoy.

The hotel’s Director of Procurement was also awarded the Considerate Hoteliers Green Champion of the Year 2012.
These awards reflect Lancaster London’s outstanding commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) across every aspect of the hotel.
Highlights include: a continued campaign to stop the decline of honey bees by growing its own colony of bees to half a million and organising the second annual "London Honey Show" on 8 October 2012; an £11.5 million "green" refurbishment of its banqueting spaces and commercial kitchens for example, dishwashers with integral heat exchanger pumps, which reheat the water coming into the machines thereby saving energy; achieving zero percent landfill waste, dramatically reducing food waste and introducing "nose-to-tail dining" in the restaurants and banqueting areas; and hosting a sponsored abseil down its 18 stories to raise money for the Springboard Charity.
Stephen Kyjak-Lane, General Manager at Lancaster London said: "I am incredibly proud and honoured to have collected the Hotel Cateys award on behalf of the finest team I have ever had the pleasure to work alongside. The whole team has worked incredibly hard to achieve phenomenal results and all must be congratulated for the hotel’s triumphs.
He added: "Lancaster London has truly surpassed all its goals and expectations in the environmental field, but there is still a lot more work to be done. We look forward to encouraging other establishments within the UK to follow our lead in protecting our environment and creating a sustainable future for our children’s children."
