Cook Islands suspends New Zealand quarantine-free travel bubble

The Cook Islands quarantine-free travel bubble with New Zealand has been paused for at least 72 hours due to the national lockdown in NZ. The Cook Islands Tourism Corporation said the government will re-evaluate the travel bubble after the lockdown ends, and Air New Zealand flights from Rarotonga are still operating to take Kiwis back home.
It says there are no restrictions on visitors in the Cook Islands returning home to New Zealand. Cook Islands Ministry of Health officers are now tracing and testing visitors who arrived from New Zealand between 11-16 August. After being tested they are required to stay in their hotel rooms untl they receive a negative result.
