Corporate Social Responsibility – what does it mean for your business? More join the debate
Hilton UK and Ireland property and utilities director Andrew Staley and Mike Rigby, founder of co2blaance, are the latest speakers confirmed for this month’s TravelMole Travel Industry Question Time.
Staley will bring knowledge of Hilton and the hotel industry’s environmental policies while Rigby brings experience in running a carbon management organisation with clients both within and outside the travel and tourism sectors.
They join a panel consisting of First Choice head of CSR Jane Ashton, The Travel Foundation director Sue Hurdle and Paul Tilstone of the Institute of Travel Management.
The debate on CSR takes place on April 19 at the Tower Hilton in London from 16.30.
The range of issues to be tackled include:
*Is CSR vital for your future long-term success, or simply a passing phase?
*Is it just about marketing (ie being seen to do your bit) or something that will become an essential part of corporate life?
*Apart from helping to protect the environment, what else should your company be doing to demonstrate CSR?
*How do you cost the impact of your Carbon Footprint? Should it be mandated policy from government ?
*What is the real value of carbon offsetting?
*Do taxes work as an effective deterrent to reduce travel and CO2 emissions?
*Is your CSR auditable?
