Costa Rica expands travel from six more US states

Saturday, 31 Aug, 2020 0

Costa Rica has doubled the number of US states on its safe list for inbound travel.

From 1 September, residents of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. will be able to travel to Costa Rica, and travelers from Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Colorado will be permitted from 15 September.

Including the already approved states of New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Connecticut, it takes the number of safe states to 12.

"The entry of travelers from these 12 states is allowed because they currently have an epidemiological condition at similar or at lower levels of contagion to those of Costa Rica," Tourism Minister Gustavo J. Segura told reporters at a press conference.

Inbound travelers must have proof of a negative PCR Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours.

In addition they must fill out an epidemiological digital form called HEALTH PASS and have mandatory travel insurance covering additional medical or quarantine expenses for Covid-19.

Guests on private yachts can now enter the country from 1 September by meeting the same entry requirements.
