Costa Rica has appointed Mauricio Ventura Aragon as new tourism minister.
Ventura Aragon will lead the development of Costa Rica Tourism Board marketing in international markets and brings a wealth of tourism marketing experience.
He was president of the National Tourism Chamber (CANATUR) in the 1990s and is a current member of the San Jose Tourism Board.
Welcoming the new appointment, Alberto Lopez, general manager of Costa Rica Tourism Board said: "We are pleased to welcome Mauricio Ventura Aragón as the new minister of tourism. His extensive experience in the hospitality industry and passion for Costa Rica will foster growth and innovation, which will assist Costa Rica in achieving its goal of positioning itself as the top-of-mind destination for all travelers."
Ventura Aragon takes over from Wilhelm von Breymann who resigned as tourism minister last month.
