Wednesday, 18 Sep, 2024 0

Cox & Kings has unveiled its latest worldwide brochure featuring three new tours and four new tailormade suggested itineraries in new destinations.

Departures run through to the end of 2026.

Italy remains a favourite, inspiring Cox & Kings to create two new specialist-led tours. Piedmont, with food writer and chef Valentina Harris, and Sicily: Normans in the South.

They offer culinary, historical, and art experiences, providing unique insights into these regions.

The new Portuguese Pousadas tour includes accommodation in heritage buildings and combines UNESCO-listed sites with wine tasting and a boat ride along the Douro River.

As part of its tailor-made service, Cox & Kings has expanded its offerings to new destinations including TunisiaSaudi ArabiaScandinaviaIceland and the Faroe Islands.

These tailor-made trips are designed to suit individual interests and needs, from the Tozeur Oasis in the Tunisian Sahara to the scenic Flåmsbana Railway in Norway.

“The latest additions represent the quintessential Cox & Kings experience – small-group tours designed to immerse travellers in local cultures through genuine interactions and off-the-beaten-track exploration,” said Jennifer Charlton, SVP Trade Sales & Business Development at Cox & Kings.

Up on last year, solo travellers now make up more than a quarter of Cox & Kings’ group tour clients in both the small group tours and the four dedicated ‘Solo Travellers’ tours which are free of single supplements:

New small group tours

NEW: Portuguese Pousadas | 8-day small-group tour

An eight-day journey from Lisbon to Porto. Staying at two of the country’s famed Pousada properties, one of which was once a Moorish castle. Guests explore historic regional centres including Coimbra and Porto; and the picturesque, terraced hillsides of the Douro valley. Signature experiences include a boat ride on the Douro River and a visit to a bakery to learn how to make pastel de nata tarts.

Situating guests in the heart of Palermo – capital for both Norman kings and Islamic emirs – this tour reveals the island’s unique history, including the Romanesque architecture of the Normans, the legacy of Byzantine artisans, and the enduring Arabic influence on Sicilian cuisine. Highlights include a street-food tasting in Palermo and a visit to Cefala Diana to see the only surviving Arabic hammam in Italy.

Piedmont with Valentina Harris | 5-day small-group tour
